Visualping alternative for tracking competitor pricing, terms and careers pages
Short answer: Visualping is a hosted, no-code website change monitor: you point it at almost any page and get alerts with screenshots, highlighted text changes, an AI summary and an important-or-not flag. The Fairquery Competitor Change Tracker does a narrower job: it checks competitors’ public pricing, terms, privacy, careers, changelog and sitemap pages on your schedule and returns structured change rows, such as which plan’s price moved and by how much, which legal section changed or which roles opened. It costs $0.00049 per page checked plus $0.0049 per change reported, with no subscription. If you want screenshots, a dashboard, logged-in pages or checks every few minutes, Visualping fits better. If you want typed change data for code, an AI agent or a webhook, the tracker may fit better.
Who each tool fits best
The Visualping points below come from the Visualping pricing page and the Visualping home page; the Fairquery points from the Competitor Change Tracker Store page.
Visualping fits better if you…
- want a no-code web dashboard and a Chrome extension, with no JSON input to write;
- need visual checks: alerts with a highlighted screenshot and before-and-after screenshot comparisons;
- monitor many kinds of pages, not only pricing, legal, careers, changelog and sitemaps, with visual, text and element detection;
- need pages behind a login (Actions on every plan); the Fairquery tracker reads public pages only;
- need checks every 2 to 15 minutes, depending on the plan;
- work as a team: users, workspaces, labels and reports, with Slack, Microsoft Teams and Google Sheets on Business plans;
- stay within the free plan (5 pages, 150 checks a month), or prefer a fixed monthly or annual plan.
The Fairquery tracker fits better if you…
- want structured results instead of screenshots: per-plan price changes with the percent change, legal edits by section with the removed and added sentences, new and closed roles from Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby, and pages added to or removed from a sitemap;
- prefer to pay per use with no subscription: cost follows the pages you check, so a small daily watchlist costs cents a month;
- want the results in code, a pipeline or an AI agent: JSON rows through the Apify API or Apify MCP, or a Slack, Discord or JSON webhook into n8n, Make or Zapier;
- want runs and data in your own Apify account, and open-source (MIT) code you can read before you run it;
- only need hourly, daily or weekly checks of public pages.

What it costs: four example watchlists
Monthly cost for a 30-day month. On the Fairquery side, each page, job-board read or sitemap file fetched is one page check; changes are extra at $0.0049 each, and the optional headless browser adds $0.0059 per rendered page. You need an Apify account. On the Visualping side, the plan shown is the smallest plan with enough checks and pages listed on the Visualping pricing page.
| Watchlist | Visualping: smallest plan that fits | Fairquery tracker |
|---|---|---|
| 5 pages, daily (about 150 checks a month) | Free plan, $0 (150 checks, 5 pages; the pricing page says this covers 5 pages about once a day) | About $0.07 a month, plus $0.0049 per change |
| 10 pages, daily (about 300 checks) | Personal 1K: $14/month, or $120/year ($10/month); 1,000 checks, 10 pages | About $0.15 a month, plus $0.0049 per change |
| 20 pages, hourly (14,400 checks) | Business 20K: $140/month, or $1,200/year ($100/month); 20,000 checks, 200 pages. The largest Personal plan has 10,000 checks | About $7.06 a month, plus $0.0049 per change |
| 100 pages, hourly (72,000 checks) | More than the largest listed plan (Business 50K: 50,000 checks, $350/month or $3,000/year); larger volumes are custom Solutions plans, see their pricing page | About $35.28 a month, plus $0.0049 per change |
This is not a like-for-like comparison. A Visualping plan includes screenshots, AI summaries, a dashboard and, on Business plans, team features. The Fairquery tracker includes typed change rows and webhook alerts, and nothing visual. Neither one sees a change that is made and reverted between two checks.
How the Fairquery Competitor Change Tracker works
- You choose the pages. Give exact pages with a type (pricing, terms, privacy, careers, changelog, blog, product or generic), plain URLs whose type is guessed from the path, or competitor domains plus the page types to find.
- The first run stores a baseline in a named key-value store in your Apify account and is charged as page checks only. Every later run reports only what changed.
- Pages are compared by type. Pricing pages by plan (name, price, currency, period, per-user unit), legal pages by section, careers pages through the public Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby board APIs, changelogs by entry, and sites by their sitemap.xml URLs.
- Noise is filtered. Scripts, navigation, footers and cookie banners are stripped; timestamps, tokens and cache-busting parameters are masked. A change is confirmed with a second read before it is reported, and a page that alternates between two versions alerts once.
- Each change has a severity. High for price and plan changes and substantive legal edits, medium for larger text, product-page and hiring changes, low for small edits. Set
minSeverityto drop the rest. - Alerts go where you work. Set
webhookUrlandwebhookFormat(slack,discordorjson); only changes at or abovewebhookMinSeverity(default medium) are sent. - It is automation-friendly. Schedule it with an Apify Schedule, call it from any language through the Apify API, from n8n, or from an AI agent through Apify MCP.
- It is polite. robots.txt is checked for every page and redirect, the user agent identifies the tool, requests to a host are at least 1.5 seconds apart, and a 403 or 429 stops all requests to that host for the run.
Limits: plan parsing is heuristic and works best on server-rendered pricing pages; JavaScript-only pages need the optional browser; runs use Apify datacenter IPs, so prices can differ by country; freshness equals your schedule. Full details are in the guide to tracking competitor pricing, terms and careers pages and on the Apify Store page.
How to start
- Open the Competitor Change Tracker on the Apify Store and sign in to Apify.
- Enter the pages or domains to watch. A minimal input:
{
"watchlistName": "competitors",
"pages": [
{ "url": "https://competitor.example/pricing", "type": "pricing" },
{ "url": "https://competitor.example/terms", "type": "terms" }
],
"domains": ["another-competitor.example"],
"webhookUrl": "https://hooks.slack.com/services/...",
"webhookFormat": "slack"
}- Run it once. The first run stores a baseline for each page and reports no changes.
- Add an Apify Schedule with the same input, for example daily or hourly.
- Set a maximum cost per run in the run options; the Actor stops before it exceeds it.
- Optional: read the change rows from your own code through the Apify API, or let an AI agent call the Actor through Apify MCP.
FAQ
Is the Fairquery Competitor Change Tracker a drop-in replacement for Visualping?
No. Visualping is a hosted, no-code monitor for any web page, with screenshots, AI summaries, a dashboard and team features. The Competitor Change Tracker is an Apify Actor for public competitor pages of known types (pricing, terms, privacy, careers, changelog, sitemap) that returns structured change rows. It replaces Visualping only if structured data for those page types is what you need.
Does the Fairquery tracker take screenshots or compare pages visually?
No. It compares the text and structure of each page by type and does no visual or pixel comparison. If you need before-and-after screenshots, Visualping offers them.
Can it monitor pages behind a login?
No. The tracker reads public, no-login pages only and respects robots.txt. Visualping's pricing page says it can monitor pages behind a login on every plan, using Actions or its Chrome extension.
How much does it cost compared with Visualping?
The tracker costs $0.00049 per page checked plus $0.0049 per change reported, with no subscription. Twenty pages checked hourly is 14,400 checks, about $7.06 a month plus changes. For that volume, the smallest Visualping plan with enough checks is Business 20K at $140 a month, or $1,200 a year ($100 a month), according to its pricing page on 2026-10-19. For five pages checked daily, Visualping's free plan costs nothing. The outputs and features differ, so compare what you need, not only the price.
Do Visualping and the tracker have an API and MCP?
Yes, both. Visualping's pricing page lists a REST API and an MCP server on every plan, including the free one, and API usage draws on the plan's check quota. The tracker is called through the Apify API or Apify MCP (mcp.apify.com); it has no Fairquery MCP server of its own.
How often can it check a page?
As often as your Apify Schedule runs it, typically hourly, daily or weekly; it is not built for minute-by-minute monitoring. Visualping's fastest check frequency depends on the plan: every hour on Free, down to every 2 minutes on Personal 10K and Business plans.
Is Fairquery affiliated with Visualping?
No. Visualping is a trademark of its owner. Fairquery is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Visualping. The name is used only to compare the two products.
